Trinity Catholic College is a multicultural Catholic high school, located in the centre of Dunedin. We have local students from many diverse backgrounds and for the last 30 years have run a strong international programme, which hosts individuals and groups of students from over ten countries. Our international students are an integrated part of our school community and our host families are welcoming and ensure our students are happy and settled.
Trinity Catholic College's International Department team have many years of experience in New Zealand and overseas education. We have traveled widely and have worked with people from a large variety of cultures, giving us the expertise to support our international students here in Dunedin and also their parents and agents in their home countries.
Mike Waterworth (BPhEd, DipTchg)
Mike has had a long association with Trinity Catholic College, having held a wide range of teaching and leadership positions reaching back to 1999. In 2023, after several years as an Assistant Principal at another Dunedin secondary school, he returned to Trinity to take up the position of Director of International Students.
Mike has a long-held interest and passion for international student programmes and believes strongly in the benefits for both the students involved and the wider school community.He is widely traveled, particularly in Asia and Europe, and has very fond memories of the year he lived in Japan in his younger days. Mike enjoys outdoor activities, sport, traveling and reading.Mike looks forward to welcoming students to Trinity Catholic Colleges excellent international student programme and will work hard to ensure students' experience at Trinity, and in Dunedin, is the best possible one.

Nicki has been the Head of ESOL at the College since 2011 and loves teaching students from all over the world. Prior to working at the College, she lived in Düsseldorf, Germany, where she spent four years teaching ESOL to adults in companies and in programs for the German government. She enjoys travelling and how her students bring their many languages and cultures to her classroom. From 2020- early 2023 she worked with families and agents to maintain a consistent international program and managed student enrolments and pastoral care. From 2023, her focus will return to their education.
Kim joined the College's International Department recently and loves supporting and encouraging international students to achieve and enjoy their time in New Zealand. As a former secondary teacher and small business owner, Kim has worked with a wide range of people and experienced many cultures in her career. Kim is looking forward to developing new relationships with the students and homestay families of Trinity Catholic College.
