Aria Bannister won the under 15 national squash champs over the 1st week of the school holidays in Wellington.

Aria adds this title to the South Island junior one she won in Oamaru earlier in the year.

Aria, the number 1 seed who plays out of the Otago Squash Club, defeated number 2 seed and current NZ Secondary Schools rep, Grace Spencer from the very strong Bay of Plenty Region.

It was Arias first NZ Junior title, having been runner up in the under 13 age group a few years ago in Christchurch.

Concluding the individual champs she lined up in the Otago under 19 girls team to contest the national teams event.

She has a very focused few months of training coming up where she will either be traveling to Canada and the USA for two intensive weeks in December to contest their prestigious Open junior events that attract the best under 19 players in the world with a 28 strong NZ contingent, or she will head to Sydney to play in the Oceania junior open a few days before Christmas.

Congratulations Aria.
