2023 Ōtepoti FIFA Fan Festival Schools Day.

Our Year 9 and 10 students had an amazing time at the 2023 Ōtepoti FIFA Schools day last Friday. The Fan Festival had some great activities, including a Goalie Challenge, Foot Speed Challenge, and Footpool. It was great to see students excited to be at the town hall and engaging in the challenges. There were also foosball tables, photo booths, and face painting to add to the atmosphere.

A panel of guest speakers discussed gender-equity issues. Ths discussion helped raise awareness and deepen the understanding among our students about the significance of creating inclusive and equitable environments.

We were fortunate to have a beautiful day as we then paraded to the stadium to watch Argentina versus South Africa at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The match was exciting, with South Africa leading 2-0 and Argentina making a comeback to equalise the score.

Our students managed themselves well throughout the day and made the most of the opportunity to be part of a world-class sporting event.

A big thank you to the parents for supporting this initiative and the teachers for their hard work behind the scenes to make this event happen. A fantastic day filled with fun, learning, and great memories!
