The above photo shows teachers are enthralled by students' argument as to why extra-curricular activities are just as important as academic work.
Last Monday Mr Drury, Ms Watts and Mrs Kerr-Bell confronted Anna Roberts, Blake Chalmers and Ollie Meikle in an entertaining Student vs Teacher debate.
The students were affirming the argument that "This house recognises extra-curricular activities as character building and sees them as being just as important as academic work". The debate was not short of laughs and numerous amusing examples were proposed by the teachers as to why students are not at their best academically if they are involved in extra-curricular activities.
Despite the initial feeling of unease about arguing with the teachers, the students managed to win the debate to take the victory!
Thank you to both teams for their enthusiastic contribution to the event, it is a wonderful light hearted affair to conclude the debating year. A special acknowledgement goes to Tuseka Njoko for chairing and organising this successful event. The debate was enjoyed by everyone who attended.
