Kia Ora Everyone!

Welcome back to what was another great start to week 3 at school!

Today we are focusing strongly on the devastating tragedies that have taken place in our world recently.

  • the North Island flooding, as in the past week the North Island was hit by a catastrophic flood which left many homes buried in the mud, people trapped on rooftops, fallen trees and power lines, flood waters blocking roads and communities stranded.
  • the earthquakes in Turkey-Syria, with over 40,000 killed amongst the devastation.
  • and lastly the ongoing war in Ukraine, which has had a heartbreaking impact on all of our lives, but mostly the ones who have lost loved ones, and freedom in their country.

We as a school community pray strongly for all those who have been affected deeply in many ways by these tragedies, and pray that you among others are kept safe, healthy and well and we pray that God is with everyone through every step of the way.

Prayer:

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change,
though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea;
though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with its tumult.
God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be moved;
God will help it when the morning dawns.
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.

- Psalm 46

We pray for the Trinity Catholic College community.
May we grow in Respect for ourselves, each other and our world.
May respect lead to Service to those in need.
Through service may we bring about Justice and, in
justice may we reflect and share the Truth of the Gospels.
This we pray in the spirit of Catherine McAuley, Edmund Rice and St Dominic
With Mary as our guide

Have a fabulous rest of the week!
