Welcome back to week 3 of the newsletter!

Shrove Tuesday or better known as Pancake day, is the last day before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Lent is the period which leads up to Easter and during this time people fast or give up something they love. This time is a reminder of Jesus' sacrifice and his withdrawal in the desert for 40 days. On Tuesday at school we had a pancake cook up in the junior area, followed by very pancake hungry children.

There were mountains of pancakes served with maple syrup, a very successful morning it was, coming together as a school celebrating our faith and devouring pancakes with one another!

On Sunday, St Peter Chanel Parish held their first youth mass of the year. Concluding with a great turnout, it went really smoothly thanks to many volunteers from both Trinity staff and students. This is a great opportunity for young people all over Dunedin to come together and celebrate our faith. It was great to be a part of, and I can't wait to see more of you at the next one. Watch this space!

We had Ash Wednesday which signified the beginning of Lent, a time of increasing our connection with God and our community. We also prepare ourselves spiritually for the resurrection of Jesus at Easter. Many thanks to our school Chaplain Father Hook for a wonderful reflection. You're awesome!

And finally our first athletics as Trinity Catholic College! Wow, what an awesome day that was, congratulations to those who did well in your events and everyone who participated purely for fun and laughs!

Tune in next Thursday for more content.
