Course Outline

The course at this level will include a personal development and relationships unit. Specific topics covered are:

Conscience/Morality/Values - we examine moral and social issues from a Catholic perspective.

The Trinity - We develop an understanding the Christian concept of God - this is covered in Year 10 and will be an Optional topic in this course in 2021.

The Church's Story, Reformation and Beyond (1500-1700)  - We explore the historical events that have shaped the Catholic and Protestant churches today.

Understanding the Gospel Story - We look at how the Gospels were formed, their characteristics and how we gain meaning from them.

AS 91916 - Demonstrate understanding of the development of a community that shares religious or spiritual beliefs    5 credits

AS 91917 -  Demonstrate understanding of how a significant narrative relates to a religious or spiritual tradition   5 credits

 

Optional Internal Topic

AS 91919 -  Demonstrate understanding of a religious or spiritual community's perspective on an issue  5 credits
