Course Outline
A range of History topics are studied as the following basic skills are learned and put into practice:
Basic skills:
- Information Gathering
- Information Processing
- Presentation of Information
- Critical Thinking
Topics:
- The Selma Campaign
- The causes and consequences of World War Two - The Rise of Hitler, The Great Depression, The Maori Battalion, and the Day of Infamy
- Protest in Aotearoa including the Springbok Tour, the Waterfront Dispute, the Rainbow Warrior, the Polynesian Panthers, the Bastion Point Occupation.
- USA Black Civil Rights Movement

Internals
AS 92024 - Engage with a variety of primary sources in a historical context (US Black Civil Rights Movement) - (Please note No re-assessment is possible for this standard) -5 credits
