Entry Requirement
Recommended “Achieved” grades in Year 10 Design & Visual Communication.
Cost
Students will be responsible for the purchase of all equipment and the purchase of additional drawing paper throughout the year as they require it. Students can expect additional charges where specific requests for card, paper, and colour copying or other materials are made.
Course Outline
The course provides a variety of challenging and creative opportunities for Students who are keen on drawing and modelling using computers to solve problems. This involves design drawing and Computer-Aided Design. Learning will focus on:

Product Design- The brief is to redesign an everyday product.

Spatial Design- architectural brief focusing on shelter.
Emphasis is on design, design principles, problem-solving, Computer-Aided Design, Model making and 3D printing.
Assessment
Students will present all evidence for assessment in a portfolio format. Student evidence for external assessment will be drawn from the portfolio work presented for internal assessments throughout the year.
