Year 7 Independent Reading Passion Projects

This term, as part of a focus on independent reading, Mr O’Callaghan and Ms van Rij’s Year 7 Literacy class embarked on a passion project centred around a book of their choice. Students investigated a specific aspect of their chosen book and were challenged to present their ideas creatively. These projects were presented in class on Tuesday to their classmates and teachers.

The variety and creativity of these projects were outstanding, ranging from podcasts and music soundtracks, to escape rooms and board games. A highlight for the class was taste-testing bread from Natalie Master’s project, which explored the symbolism of bread woven throughout the Hunger Games series.
