Mobile Phone Use Procedure

Guidelines

You will be aware that the new government has brought in new student phone regulations for 2024. All schools have to implement these as early as possible in term one.

Our current phone regulations do not differ greatly from the government regulations but a policy needs to be created in line with the government regulations and agreed to by the Board which will occur early in term one.

Until then our current and annually reviewed mobile phone procedure remains in place. The main change you will notice for the start of the year, is that Years 7-9 will no longer have a lock box where phones are kept for the day. Instead we strongly recommend that phones are left at home, and if they have to be brought to school they must be kept in bags for the day.

The office phone is always available, free of charge, to any student who needs to contact home for any reason. You can find a copy of our current procedure on the website https://www.trinity.school.nz/about/cyber-safety/

You will be updated in the next few weeks regarding the Board policy that will be developed early this term.
