Celebrating Sāmoan Language Week

Talofa lava!

Due to a community event, our Sāmoan Community at Trinity couldn't celebrate Sāmoan Language Week during the first week of June, so we celebrated during the last week of Term 2 with singing, dancing, and food. Also during that week, Sāmoan Snowflakes were being made by students. Sāmoa food was provided by Matua Moananu, who was assisted by his students in cooking up his world-famous dishes in Dunedin: "Pagikeke" and "Koko Alaisa". He also brought in some cans of corned beef to school to share with the students.

Many thanks to all who supported the week.

Ia manuia,
