Samoan Language Week

Talofa lava!
Last week we celebrated Samoan language week, with singing, dancing and eating!
During the week students had a chance to make Samoan snowflakes and learnt to play on their ukulele - "Ta Lau ukulele". Samoan food was provided by Matua Moananu all throughout the week he made dishes like "Pagikeke" and "Koko Alaisa". We also had Chop Suey and rice to enjoy while students shared their traditional Samoan dances. We also wanted to celebrate one of our favourite people in our community, our Māori and Pasifika Dean, Miss Amelia Bresanello, on her King's Service Medal that she received over King's Birthday weekend, We congratulated her by giving her ula lole that some of our senior students kindly made, we are all very proud of her.
