Relay For Life

On 20 April 2024, a team of Trinity Year 13 students will participate in the Dunedin Relay For Life event.

We will be joining thousands of others in paying tribute to those whom we have lost to cancer and all those affected by cancer. This New Zealand-wide event aspires to create a future with less cancer.

For the Dunedin event, we’ll be running laps of the Forsyth Barr Stadium throughout the day in response to the donations we receive. Some of our inspiring team members have agreed to share their motivation for participation in this year’s event:

“I last participated in Relay for Life back in 2013 with my family, in memory of my Grandad. I am super excited to participate again over 10 years later with a group of my friends and raise awareness and money for a great cause.” - Alice Kelsall

“For me, I wanted to do Relay for Life because it fundraises money for those who have cancer and brings awareness around the matter. I am doing this Relay in memory of my Grandpa who sadly passed away from cancer.” - Isaac Tili

“I am doing Relay for Life because I have lost loved ones to cancer and I want to be able to help contribute towards the Cancer Society to raise awareness for other people’s loved ones suffering from cancer.” - Phoebe Harris

With your support, we'll make a real difference for New Zealanders with cancer and their whānau. The funds raised will go to the Cancer Society's supportive care services, education and awareness programmes, and life-saving cancer research.

If you’d like to sponsor our team, the link for submitting donations is: https://relayforlife.org.nz/trinity-catholic-college

We truly appreciate every donation as every little bit counts. Any donations over $5 are tax deductible. In the words of an anonymous donor: “Thank you for walking for those who can’t.”
