Introducing New Staff at Trinity Catholic College

By Administration | Posted: Wednesday February 4, 2026

We are extremely fortunate to welcome a number of new staff to Trinity this year.

Over the next few weeks we will take the opportunity to introduce new staff members in our weekly newsletter.

Megan Reid

Sports Coordinator

I moved over from the UK in August last year with my husband & 2 children. I’m a keen hockey player and for the last 10 years have worked as a Hockey Development officer in the UK. Starting at Trinity has helped me settle into my new life in Dunedin. The staff and students have been very welcoming, and I look forward to getting to know the staff, students & parents more.

P.S. My step count has never been so high!

Mark Thomas

Property Manager

A little about myself. I am originally from the UK, made the big move to NZ in 2011 after living and traveling around Australia. I have various hobbies ranging from cooking big slabs of meat on the BBQ to simply kicking back and watching a movie or enjoying some live music.

I look very much forward to maintaining and updating the property and grounds at Trinity.

Sam Montgomerie

English Department

Kia Ora koutou. It is a pleasure to join the English Department at Trinity Catholic College. I will be teaching English across years 10-13, and have a wonderful Year 10 pastoral class.

I hail from the North Island, growing up in Whanganui, but have lived and taught in Ōtepoti for the past 20 years. In my spare time I enjoy keeping active in the outdoors, being amongst wildlife, and reading.  I also love to write and have established a successful publishing career writing educational readers, junior fiction texts and poetry for publications in NZ and the UK. I have recently returned to the classroom after completing a writing residency as the Otago University College of Education Children’s Writer in Residence in 2025. I look forward to bringing my writing expertise into Trinity College and helping to foster the writing talents of keen wordsmiths.

I already feel blessed to have been welcomed warmly by staff, students and parents I have met in the Trinity community.  I look forward to meeting more of you over the coming months.
