Saint Dominic

As we celebrate the upcoming Feast Day of Saint Dominic, we remember a man who dedicated his life to sharing God’s love through truth, prayer, and learning.

Saint Dominic was born in Spain in 1170 and founded the Order of Preachers, also known as the Dominicans. He believed that by studying Scripture, praying faithfully, and treating others with kindness and respect, people could grow closer to God.

Saint Dominic encouraged people to ask questions, seek the truth, and share their faith with compassion. His example reminds us that our words and actions can help bring hope, understanding, and peace to those around us.

As a school community, we can honour Saint Dominic by making time for prayer, being honest, helping those in need, and using our gifts to serve others. May his example inspire us to live with courage, wisdom, and faith every day.

Thank You for the life and example of Saint Dominic. Help us to seek the truth with open hearts, to grow in faith through prayer, and to show kindness to everyone we meet.

Give us the courage to stand up for what is right, the wisdom to keep learning, and the compassion to care for those who need our help. May we follow Saint Dominic’s example by sharing Your love through our words and actions each day.
