Head Students: Leah Olsen and Jack Waterworth

Hi! My name is Leah and I am so honoured to be named Head Girl for 2026. I am super excited to get to know all of you and grow in my role. I hope that in my role I am able to make every student in the school feel welcomed and like they belong. Some of my plans for the year include establishing Letters for Strangers and working with the enviro prefect/enviro group to start trapping in our local community. Thank you.

Kia ora, I’m Jack Waterworth and I am privileged to be able to represent our school as Trinity's Head Boy this year. I was born here in Dunedin but spent the first few years of my life living in central Otago, before moving back to Dunedin.  I am a big fan of anything sport and fitness, especially football. As well as this, I love to learn. You could probably take a wild guess that PE is my favourite subject, and you would be right. However, in the last couple of years biology has been one of my favourites too. Trinity had brought me some very memorable moments, one of them being the year 11 PE camp in Peel Forest where I participated in rafting and high ropes! I am very excited to lead our school in this role, and to help our community grow stronger. Keep your eye out for an exciting community social justice project coming up that I am currently working on!

Deputy Head Students: Isla Kamo and Akein Wickramagedara

My name is Isla Kamo, and I am proud to be Deputy Head Girl for 2026. I joined Trinity at the beginning of Year 11 and have truly loved my time here, thanks to the strong sense of community and support within the school. This year, my goal is to help strengthen connections between year levels and create a more inclusive school environment. I plan to help initiate lunchtime games and tournaments and play an active role in welcoming our new students. I am excited to connect further with students and staff and to help create a positive, lasting legacy at Trinity!

Hi everyone, I’m Akein Wickramagedara and I will be representing our school as Deputy Head Boy this year! I’m born and raised in Dunedin, but come from a Sri Lankan family and culture. If you know me, then you know I really enjoy getting involved with all types of extracurricular activities at our school. Some of my favourite moments have been made in the school band, debate team, football team, and all types of other opportunities. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what more I can contribute to the school this year through my prefect role, as well as making new connections in our school community!

Special Character Prefects: Ethan Then and Matamatanonofo Taua

Kia ora, my name is Ethan Then and I have the pleasure of being one of this year’s Special Character Prefects. My mum’s parents came to Dunedin in 1981 as refugees from Cambodia and my dad arrived in 1996 as a high school student from Malaysia. I myself have lived in Dunedin my whole life, developing passions for football and chess. In my role this year I hope to lead some faith and service-based initiatives to live out our school’s Catholic Special Character in meaningful and practical ways. I look forward to working with the rest of the team as we strive to make 2026 a great year!

Talofa lava my name is Mata and I am one of your Special Character Prefects for 2026!

I enjoy learning new things, getting involved, and helping out whenever I can. And I’m excited to support school liturgies, service opportunities, and activities that bring us together as a community.
