Trinity Book Week

Last week, Trinity came alive for Book Week, a celebration dedicated to the joy of reading and all things literacy.
The week kicked off with 'Free the Teacher', an escape-room-style library challenge. Teachers were chained to chairs, and students had to use their literacy and research skills to solve clues, crack the secret word, and pop the padlocks. It was a high-energy way to get students navigating the shelves and putting their problem-solving skills to the test!
We were also fortunate to host local author Kathryn Van Beek. Kathryn captivated our students by sharing insights into her creative writing process and telling the heartwarming story of her rescue cat, Bruce, who inspired her two popular picture books.
Book Week wouldn’t be complete without Dress as a Book Character Day, and the creativity from staff and students was incredible! Paper Plus book vouchers went to the best-dressed student in each year level, alongside prizes for top group costumes. The staff prize went to the iconic duo, Savannah and Phillip de Vos, for their brilliant transformation into The Lorax and a Truffula tree.
Best of all, Dress as a Book Character Day gave us a chance to give back. In exchange for dressing up, we asked for food donations for the St Vincent de Paul Food Bank, and our school community delivered. The great amount of food collected was a lovely reflection of our Catholic school values in action.
Trinity Book Week was a wonderful celebration of reading and imagination. Thank you to our amazing school community for reading, dressing up, creating, and donating!
