A Shakespearean Exchange

This week, the two winners of the Otago Shakespeare Festival have both performed at each other’s schools in preparation for the National Festival in Wellington at King’s Birthday weekend.

At the Otago Shakespeare Festival held at the end of Term 1, a group from Trinity Catholic College won the 5-minute scene section and a group from John McGlashan College won the 15-minute scene meaning that both groups get to attend the National Festival in Wellington in a few week’s time.

It was decided that it would be great for the students from both schools to get to see these two winning performances, so on Monday 12 May the John McGlashan students came to Trinity and both pieces were performed for our senior school and on Wednesday 14 May the Trinity students went to John McGlashan and the same scenes were presented at their weekly assembly.

This was great practice for both groups, and very special that they could share their hard work and entertaining performances with so many other students.

We wish both the Trinity students and the John McGlashan students the best of luck when they represent our region in Wellington soon.
