Songwriting Success

Lola Murphy (Year 11) has just been announced as a finalist in the 2026 Play It Strange National Songwriting Competition (Year 9-13) with her song “Ricochet”.

All finalists in this competition are provided with a day in a recording studio to professionally record their song.

Play It Strange was established in 2003 and runs competitions for young New Zealanders to write, record, and perform their original songs thereby providing youth nationwide with a platform to express themselves through songwriting.
