The Dunedin Astronomical Society presents 'Space Club' for any young space enthusiast! Read on to find out more....
A new kids and teens space club is about to start running at the observatory. The club plans to hold sessions on the second and fourth Thursday of each month throughout the School term. To begin with we will have one session, however if we get more demand we plan to split the group into two with younger club members involved in earlier session times, and high school aged club members later.
Club Activities: Will range each week - with a focus on a specific topics - we hope to build this around the interest of the children so that they are engaged and have fun. It will be a mix of hands on activities, learning how to use telescopes (weather permitting), talks, discussions and videos.
There will be a cost of $5 per session to cover any materials used.
Space Club is run by Grace, who has a first aid certificate.
