The Trinity musical this year will take you back in time to an era when blue eyeshadow and leg warmers were fashionable, Atari and CDs were cutting edge technology, and Michael Jackson and Madonna were pop royalty.
“Back to the 80s” is set in the USA and tells the story of the senior class of William Ocean High School that graduated in the 1980s, as remembered and seen through the eyes of Corey Palmer, who is now 30-something. This show is a real pop culture trip down memory lane.
The musical explores the angst and joy of being a teenager set against a backdrop of neon, big hair, double denim, and featuring over twenty iconic 80s hits such as “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go”, “Kids in America”, “You Give Love A Bad Name”, “Video Killed the Radio Star”, “Material Girl”, and so many more.
Around 100 students are involved with “Back to the 80s” in the cast, crew, and band - and they’ve been working hard since the beginning of Term 1 to make this a spectacular, fun, and thoroughly entertaining show.
There will be four evening performances of “Back to the 80s” (16-19 June) and tickets will go on sale very soon - keep an eye out for posters and advertising on social media for all the details.
