MTB Championships

Thomas Crawford (Year 7) participated in the NZ Schools Mountain Biking champs in Nelson during the recent school holidays. Thomas had a fantastic time, made some new friends and came 22 out of 30 in the downhill race. He also recorded a time of 00:17:43.88 in the enduro. What a great result - well done Thomas!
The 2025 Cycling NZ Schools MTB Champs was hosted by the Nelson Mountain Bike Club, with racing taking place 29th September – 2nd October. The exciting event brought together over 600 riders from across New Zealand for four days of competition. Competitors were able to test their skills in Enduro, Downhill, Cross Country, and the Cross Country Team Event, and every year the event is a fantastic experience for both riders and spectators.
Open to intermediate and secondary school aged students nationwide, the NZ Schools Mountain Biking Champs offers a platform to highlight stunning trails and biking skill!
