From gyms and hot yoga studios to strava running routes, our Year 12 PE students have embraced a diverse range of training experiences this term.
This term, our Year 12 Physical Education students have been exploring the concept of Learning to Train. Through a combination of practical experiences and classroom learning, students have developed their understanding of different training methods and the principles of training, applying these concepts to improve performance in netball.
A real highlight has been the opportunity to experience a range of fitness facilities and exercise environments within our local community. Students have trained at Snap Fitness, AM I FIT, Les Mills, and even challenged themselves with a hot yoga session. These experiences have allowed students to step outside the school environment, discover different ways to stay active, and gain first-hand insight into the variety of training options available in our community.
Alongside this unit, students have embraced our Run Club challenge. Each week they have completed a minimum of one 20-minute continuous training run, with their sessions tracked on Strava. It has been fantastic to see students building consistency and collectively clocking up some impressive kilometres throughout the term.
The engagement, effort, and willingness to try new forms of training have been outstanding. It has been great to see students developing not only their physical fitness but also the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their own health, wellbeing, and future training.
