Year 13 student Meadow Stewart found out on Monday that she has been selected for the National Shakespeare Schools Production (NSSP) as a result of her performance at the National Shakespeare Festival in Wellington during King’s Birthday weekend.
A small number of high school actors from throughout the country (out of hundreds who take part in the regional and national Shakespeare Festivals) are selected for NSSP each year and get to participate in a residential intensive week which generally includes presentations, workshops, and rehearsals culminating in public performances of 40-minute scenes from a selection of the Shakespeare’s plays.
Following this, about twenty-four of the students will be chosen to proceed to the next level and travel to the Globe Theatre in London next year.
Trinity is very proud of Meadow and her dedication and commitment to drama and the performing arts in general. Congratulations on this wonderful achievement, Meadow!
