This week, we focus on sustainability and protecting our environment. Enviro week reminds us to be mindful of what we do to our planet, and be grateful and respectful for the gifts we have been given. Pope Francis wrote in his encyclical, ‘Laudato si,’ that “Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last two hundred years.” Pope Francis highlighted that, as Christians, we are called to protect our shared home and to exercise stewardship, which is one of our nine Catholic Social Teachings.
The envirogroup and our enviro prefect, Lucy Appleton, has organised activities to help us do our part to protect our environment and raise awareness. On Thursday, there will be a clothes swap happening in M1.4 and M2.1 during lunchtime. All gold coin donations will go to the Yellow Eyed Penguin Trust.
