Dunedin Youth Jazz Festival

The band is made up of 17 students from Year 7 right through to Year 13, and they’ve been meeting every week before school with Ms Watts to learn and practise a number of jazz pieces.

The band enjoyed playing at the Festival in front of an enthusiastic audience and they did a fantastic job. Two “Outstanding Performance on an Instrument” awards were presented to members of the jazz band at the conclusion of the event:

• Kaitlyn Hsu, Kai Foote, and Leah Olsen (violins) - non-traditional jazz instrument

• Joseph Kelly (bass)

We look forward to hearing more from the Trinity Jazz Band in the future.
