Google Classroom Guardian Summaries

Trinity Catholic College uses Google Classroom, a classroom management tool, which allows staff to communicate with their class, creating, sharing, and marking assignments. While it is used for many classes, it is not used for all classes.

For those classes where the teacher has enabled Google Classroom summaries, an email summary can be sent to a parent or caregiver, which has a summary of missing work, upcoming work, and class activity.

To receive Classroom Summaries, you MUST have a Google account. If not, you will not be able to receive Google Classroom Guardian Summaries. If you don’t have a Google account and would like to receive these, you will need to set up a Google account either creating a new gmail.com email address or using your current email address.

On Friday 16 February, emails will be sent to parents/caregivers who are notice recipients, inviting them to receive Google Classroom Guardian Summaries for their child/children or student(s) in their care.

If you do not want to receive the invite email, please complete the form here (before 16 February) and we will remove your email address from the invitation process.

Please note: If you forward the invitation email to another email address, the owner of that email address will be able to receive the Guardian Summary emails.

Some parents/caregivers who had students at the college last year may already be receiving Guardian Summaries. If you currently receive Guardian Summary emails want to change the frequency of these emails or no longer want to receive these, you can also complete the same form here, which has some instructions on how to either change the frequency of Guardian Summaries or remove the student from your account altogether.

If you currently receive Guardian Summary and you remove a child (or student in your care) from your Guardian Summary list, unless you specify in the form you do not want to receive an invite, you will receive an invite to receive Guardian Summaries for this child.
