Junior Māori and Pasifika Homework Club

Talofa, Mālō e lelei, Bula, Kia orāna, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Kia Ora. For the last two Terms, we have had the Years 7-9 Junior Māori and Pasifika homework club running every Tuesday after school. The club has served as a place of learning, sharing, growing and being together, supporting and celebrating our Māori and Pasifika cultures within our school.
Students who have been attending the homework club have shown growth in their commitment in taking responsibility for their learning. The shared kai time has also been valuable in the way in which it has fostered social interactions for students being able to spend time together, talking, playing and interacting with each other, within the club environment.
Some senior students have attended sessions and have naturally supported and worked on building the connections between our junior and senior Māori and Pasifika students. This has been such a valuable experience for both groups.
Thank you to all those students who have attended at some point over the last two Terms. I am sure we are all looking forward to a restful break and we will be back again in Term Three!
Fa'afetai Lava,
Mrs Harris
