Spelling Bee Buzz: Trinity is off to the National Finals!

Congratulations to all 13 students who competed in the Otago / Southland NZ Spelling Bee Regional Semi-Finals on Tuesday. After months of preparation, they presented themselves with poise and confidence before a packed auditorium, spelling their way through numerous rounds in the knock-out competition. We are enormously proud of your dedication and your courage to present before a live audience.

Particular congratulations go to Anabel Rutledge who will be representing Otago at the National Spelling Bee finals in Wellington at the end of October. Anabel will join 21 other top spellers from around the country to fight for the title of NZ Spelling Bee champion. This includes an all-expenses paid flight to Wellington, a day of sight-seeing, a tour of parliament and a special banquet with the other contestants. After a night in a hotel, she will compete in the competition before returning home. All the best over the coming months as you prepare for this exciting challenge, Anabel.

A special mention is also made to Eva Marslin in year 9, who also made it into the final round of the competition.
