Year 10 Camp Week preview

Next week our intrepid Year 10s are swapping the classroom for the magnificent outdoors. From beautiful Rakiura/Stewart Island to the towering peaks and pristine waterways of Pātea/Doubtful Sound, Year 10 Camp Week is a highlight of the school year. Our camps this year have had a refresh with new names, new challenges and a 'leave your phone at home' policy. Service is one of our core values at the college and each camp will have an activity designed to give back. At Deep Cove, for example, students on the Fiordland Fanatics camp will be completing a shoreline clean up. No phones on camp will ensure students connect with each other, enjoy nature and fully embrace what each experience has to offer. Here is an overview of of each camp, location and activities:

Aoraki Altitude Adventures - Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park - Hiking, camping, sightseeing and stargazing.

Southern Swells Surfing - Curio Bay, Catlins Forest Park - Surfing, hiking and camping.

Fiordland Fanatics - Deep Cove, Pātea/Doubtful Sound - Fishing, hiking and a day cruise to the Tasman Sea.

Dunedin Outdoor Challenges - Dunedin City - Hiking, sightseeing and local tourist activities.

Stewart Island Rakiura Roamers - Rakiura National Park - Hiking, sightseeing and wilderness camping.

West Wānaka High Rocks - Glendhu Bay and Mātukituki Valley - Rock climbing, hiking and camping.

Keep an eye on next week's newsletter for camp updates, photos and more!
