Social Justice Week

Next week is Social Justice Week and we have a few important events coming up!

On Monday 8 September, we'll kick things off with a brandless mufti day. Please bring a gold coin donation, which will go towards supporting Chalata Primary School in Zambia. The money raised will help provide them with books, school supplies, colourful classroom posters, and sports equipment, making a huge difference to their learning and wellbeing.

All week, we will also be running a school-wide competition to support St Vincent de Paul. Each year group has a specific category of items to collect:

  • Year 7: Cans

  • Year 8: Breakfast foods

  • Year 9: School lunch foods (e.g. muesli bars)

  • Year 10: Spreads

  • Year 11: Non-perishable food items

  • Year 12: Toiletries or baby food

  • Year 13: Pasta and rice

  • Staff: Pet food

We will have the location for the donations inside the library. Students can take their donations there at any point of the day. There will be boxes labelled with each year group for them to put them in. The year level that collects the most by the end of the week will be crowned the winner!

Important reminder: All seniors will be on suspended timetable from Tuesday 9 September and doing exams, so please bring your donations on Monday or drop them off during the week when you come in for exams or whenever you can in your own time.

Keep an eye on Helix for updates throughout the week.
