The annual Year 10 Economics Market Day was a phenomenal success, marked by a perfect day and an electric atmosphere. With a wide range of creative stalls, including Bacon Beaters, Treasure Treats, Crumbs & Clouds, Dunk the Teacher, Burger Bloc, and Clips & Co., the courtyard was buzzing with entrepreneurial spirit from start to finish.

The event was a testament to the students' hard work and planning, resulting in a day filled with fun, smiles, and valuable learning. The teams donated $100 towards Social Justice Week.

Advice for the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

The success of the day was matched only by the insightful advice the Year 10 students had for the upcoming 2026 cohort. The overwhelming message was a strong emphasis on preparation and teamwork. Many students emphasised the importance of meticulous planning with the entire team, ensuring everyone is on the same page and roles are clearly defined. A common piece of advice was to "plan with your team well and manage time."

When it came to business strategy, a clear theme emerged: keep it simple and sell what customers want. Several students advised their peers not to "make heaps of product" and to "sell something popular and cheap." Practical financial advice was also a key takeaway, with a strong recommendation to "be able to count change and cash perfectly and quickly," and to "always have a float and be respectful."

Beyond the practical skills, the students' advice carried a genuine sense of camaraderie. They encouraged the next group to "just have fun," "support one another," and "be prepared." Overall, the event was a fantastic learning opportunity where students developed crucial skills in collaboration, financial management, and marketing, all while having a blast and contributing to a worthy cause.
