St Patrick’s Day Evening Market & Showcase a Huge Success

Our school community came together in true festive spirit to celebrate the St Patrick’s Day Evening Market & Showcase, a vibrant event that highlighted the creativity, enterprise, and talent of our students.
With over 150 students involved, the evening was a fantastic celebration of effort and collaboration. The sunny weather was an added bonus, creating the perfect atmosphere for families and friends to enjoy the stalls, performances, and strong sense of community.
The market showcased the hard work of our commerce students, who spent several weeks planning, designing, and running their own businesses. From developing product ideas to organising materials, pricing, and sales, students experienced first-hand what it takes to operate a small enterprise. The variety and quality of the stalls reflected their dedication, teamwork, and innovative thinking, and we are incredibly proud of what they achieved.
Behind the scenes, many people contributed to the success of the evening. We extend our sincere thanks to the staff who supported students throughout the process, and especially to our IT technician, Alice Bennett and her team whose expertise ensured everything ran seamlessly.
The showcase performances were a highlight of the evening. The Late News Band brought fantastic energy, while Kapa Haka delivered a powerful and inspiring performance. The school haka was performed with great gusto, energising the crowd and adding to the sense of pride and unity. Madeline Homan’s beautiful voice added a special touch as she performed an Irish Blessing, and Che McGivern embraced the theme with great Irish spirit.
We would also like to acknowledge the final showcase performances by members of The Late News Band, who are Year 13 students. We sincerely thank them for hosting the showcase over the past four years. They are talented musicians who consistently bring energy and professionalism to our events. We will miss them.
We are incredibly grateful to our parents, caregivers, family members, and friends. Your support created a warm and lively atmosphere and made the evening truly special for our students.
The night concluded on a high note with the school song, bringing everyone together in a fitting celebration of community and achievement.
Congratulations to all involved on such a successful and memorable evening.
