Celebrating another successful year for the Buddies Programme.
Last week, we said farewell to the students who have been part of this year's Buddies Programme. It has been a truly terrific year for the programme, which pairs Year 12 students with Year 7 students to help them transition to life at Trinity Catholic College.
The programme provides a fantastic opportunity for our younger students to connect with a mentor. Meeting regularly, typically once or twice a week, the Year 12 buddies support their ākonga in a wide range of areas, including social skills, academic support, and confidence building.
This year, we had 64 students participate across Year 7 and Year 12. It has been amazing to watch our younger students grow in confidence as they settle into the Trinity community, thanks to the guidance and support of their senior buddies.
The success of the programme is a testament to the servant leadership on display. Our Year 12 students have selflessly committed their time and energy to serve others, putting the needs of our new students first. We are incredibly proud of all the students who took part and volunteered for this position.
