The Academy programme has had a solid and productive term, with athletes showing real growth both physically and mentally across training and theory sessions.

The Academy has had a strong term, with students engaging in AM I FIT conditioning sessions every second week. These sessions have produced noticeable fitness improvements across the group, with many athletes showing increased capacity to push through challenging work and develop greater consistency in their training.

A key focus has also been time spent in the Hurtlocker, where athletes are learning to embrace discomfort and “love the grind” as part of building resilience and performance mindset.

In theory sessions, the group has explored important performance concepts including dealing with pressure, leadership within a team environment, and recovery strategies to support training and competition.

Most recently, the Academy was fortunate to hear from Mackensie Middlemiss, who delivered an engaging session on fuelling for sport. Athletes took away valuable insights around game-day nutrition, practical lunchbox ideas, and how proper fuelling supports performance and recovery.

Overall, it has been great to see this group continue to unlock their potential, grow in confidence, and develop habits that will support them both in sport and beyond.
