Classics Quiz Champions!

On Tuesday evening, some of our students who are passionate about Ancient Greece and Rome took part in the Annual Classics Quiz run by the University of Otago. The quiz covered topics spanning a broad range of areas such as literature, mythology, geography and ancient heroes.

The Year 8 team of Matthew Suwanarusk and Luca Schuaman overcame the absence of teammate Loki Borland on the night due to illness, and led from start to finish in their competition to take home the trophy. The boy's perfect score in the section on Heroes being a particularly standout achievement.

In a toughly fought competition in Year 9 & 10, our team of Julian Osland and Xavier Fuss also had to handle being a teammate down, with Luca Ryan this time being the victim of illness. They came in a very creditable second, beaten to the post by a very capable St Hilda's team. These two boys exhibited plenty of knowledge and understanding in gaining a podium finish
