Chess Tournament

TC4 is the Trinity Catholic College Chess Club and we meet each Thursday and Friday in D21. Our two Intermediate teams competed in the recent tournament hosted by Trinity. Our teams were:

Thirteen teams from across Southland and Otago competed in this annual event organised by the Otago Chess Club. Both Trinity teams scored 3.5 points, the third-equal best match score of the day, although we didn't gain an official award due to the count-back of individual points.

Our two teams played with enthusiasm and some great battles were fought against some strong teams. One highlight was seeing Naomi Pushenko gaining the top female Intermediate player of the tournament. Congratulations!

TC4 continues in D21 each Thursday and Friday. Feel free to come along for a friendly game or try a more competitive match using a chess clock.
