Trinity Taekwondo Talent!

We are excited to share recent results achieved by two talented Trinity students, Marcus Uy (Year 7) and Matthea Mendoza (Year 10). Marcus and Matthea competed at the 2026 World Taekwondo NZ Open, held in Auckland on August 2, 2026.

After an impressive performance across the weekend, Marcus secured a silver and a bronze medal in the Poomsae events.

Matthea secured a Gold medal in the female individual poomsae category and a Bronze medal in the pair poomsae event.

These achievements will contribute valuable points toward the TNZ School Championship Leaderboard and help Trinity Catholic College in its pursuit to finish at the top of the list on the NZ School's National Leaderboard at the end of the year.

With two more competitions remaining this year, our Trinity students continues to show excellent dedication and commitment to their craft of Taekwondo - training hard and doing their very best to achieve continued success.

We are super excited to follow the progress of our Taekwondo athletes over the months ahead, and agree that the best is yet to come! To all our Trinity students competing in martial arts - keep up the great work everyone.
