Regional Success for Trinity Debate Teams

Congratulations to our three teams that competed against Otago's best in debating over the weekend.
Accolades galore this weekend for our outstanding senior teams at regionals.
The teams were:
Trinity one: Akein Wickramagedara, Chē McGivern and Joseph Kelly
Trinity two: Camila Barns, Skyla Knopp and Ziva Curtis
Trinity three: Yoona Athrinn Sales , Liam Rasmussen and Casey Revill
Trinity one placed second overall, losing by one vote to Columba one.
Trinity two placed fifth overall out of 20 teams.
Also, well done to Trinity three (made completely of new students) for their two wins throughout the tournament.
Individual successes go to:
Chē McGivern: Best speaker and selected for the Otago team.
Ziva Curtis: Most promising speaker and Otago team reserve.
Camila Barns: Selected for the development squad.
Both Chē and Ziva are off to Wellington for nationals.
A special thanks goes out the the debate club's coach and Trinity Alumni, Tim Lapham, who brings his knowledge for Otago University debating into our club. We could not do this with out him!
