Marslin continues great form alongside Morgan-Eathorne in two good wins for Trinity.
On Saturday 14th Feb Trinity Catholic College fielded two cricket teams for the College, which is awesome. The First XI played Logan Park High School at Opoho and comprehensively beat the Logan Park First XI. Trinity bowled first and bowled Logan Park out for 112, Jimmy MacKenzie the chief destroyer with 4-22 off 8 overs and two very good catches, Leo Innes continued his fine form with 2-17, all our bowlers held a good line and length and performed well. In reply we knocked off the runs inside 20 overs with Sam Marslin producing a magnificent knock of 66 Not Out to carry Trinity home. Sam hit the ball to all parts of the ground and has really stepped up this season with some fine form. Connor Hall also produced his best with 15 not out.
The Trinity CC second XI also played Logan Park and was far too good winning by 9 wickets. Trinity bowled Logan Park out for 91 with Noah Schoenleben taking 3-8 qnd Leno Gianone 2-16. Isaac Jago, Fergus Barnett and Louis Thompson were all tidy with the ball as well. In reply Trinity were brutal with Max Morgan-Eathorne 41 not out, and Joe Burke 18 Not Out, chasing the target in 17.1 overs. Leo Innes also chimed in with 14. A great start - well done all! My thanks to Michael Jago and Brendan Eathorne for looking after the team.
