St Mary Mackillop Port Chalmers Scholarship

Over the weekend Year 8 Trinity Catholic College student Lyonesse Malcolm was awarded the St Mary MacKillop Port Chalmers Scholarship. This was a pretty big deal as she is the first person to be granted it.

Here are some words from the recipient herself, Lyonesse......

Saint Mary Mackillop Scholarship.

The Saint Mary Mackillop Scholarship was made in honour of Mary Mackillop. She is the Saint of young children, as she spent her life looking after children, she is also the Saint of troublemakers!

This award had to be given to a child from Port Chalmers who goes to Trinity and showed the 4 tenets of Trinity: service, respect, justice, and truth.

I was lucky enough to be awarded this scholarship, and I am forever grateful. I got awarded this scholarship on the 17th of October by the Catholic Priest at a service that was celebrating Saint Mary MacKillop.

Thank you Trinity Catholic College.

Congratulations Lyonesse! We are so incredibly proud of you, and are especially proud of your kind nature and smiley self!
