Intermediate Chess Tournament

On Saturday 17th June, Trinity hosted the Otago Chess Champs for primary and intermediate schools.
The event took place in the library from midday till 6.00 pm. That's a lot of time and concentration!
Each player had seven games (1 pt for a win, 1/2 point for a draw, 0 for a loss), so the maximum possible points for one player is 7. As you can see below, all of our players produced solid performances.
Our team was:
- Board 1 Gaow Kaewsaibuathong (4 pts)
- Board 2 Jon Ronaldson (3 pts)
- Board 3 Josh Elliotte (5 pts)
- Board 4 Skyla Knopp (5 pts)
Well done to our intermediate team which gained the 4th best score out of 10 schools. A very promising result which bodes well for the future of Trinity chess.
