Otago Regional Lit Quiz

On Friday 27th March, we were proud to have both a Year 7 team and a Year 8 team represent our school at the Otago regional heat of the Kids’ Lit Quiz. The Kids’ Lit Quiz is a fun and challenging worldwide competition that celebrates a love of reading.

On the day, students took part in a three-hour quiz (with only a short break), answering questions on authors, characters, texts, and general literary knowledge. They showed impressive focus and quick thinking throughout, recalling detailed knowledge under pressure. Success in the quiz relies on strong teamwork, and our teams worked exceptionally well together, listening to one another, sharing ideas, and building on each other’s knowledge.

Both teams handled the fast-paced nature of the competition well and it was fantastic to see how fully they embraced the challenge and supported one another throughout. They should be very proud of their performance on the day and the way they represented our school.

Year 7 Team: Natalie Masters, Janudi Ganganatha, Thomas Matthews-Nielson, Ethan Pan

Year 8 Team: Ruby Ducan, Annemijn Kelderman, Alyssa Kubala, Kaitlyn Hsu
