Free Writing Trip to the Art Gallery

Last Thursday, the Year 7 and 8 Free Writing Option class visited the Dunedin Public Art Gallery looking for inspiration for their writing. Currently, in the Whānau Gallery, there is an exhibition called - ‘And Then…’ - a choose your own adventure activity with inspiring works from the Gallery's collection.

Our Year 7 and 8 students spent a wonderful hour choosing illustrated artwork cards to spark their storyline adventures before diving into writing. This week in class they’ve been looking at the concept of the ‘Hero’s Journey’ and using this for inspiration for their epic tales of adventure.
