First XI Football: SISS Girls Lotto Sportswear Tournament

Our Girls First XI Football team travelled to Invercargill to compete in the SISS Girls Lotto Sportswear Tournament. Throughout the tournament, we grew closer as a team, both on and off the field. In our downtime, we enjoyed lots of fun activities, including initiations, team games, an amazing race AND FROYO!

We started the tournament with a tough match against Southland Girls’ High School. It was a very close game, leading at half time, but unfortunately ended in a loss. Day two was our toughest day, with matches against Otago Girls’ High School and Marian College. Although both games resulted in losses, we learnt a lot from each match and were determined to go into day three with renewed energy and positivity!

Our hard work paid off on day three, when we secured our first win against Cromwell College. This gave us a huge confidence boost heading into our second game against Aparima College, where we finished the day with a convincing win.

Our final game was an early 9am kick-off against Queen’s High School. It was another incredibly close match, again leading at half time, but unfortunately we finished with a 2–1 loss, placing us 14th overall. This match was also the final game for the Trinity Girls 1st XI for Isla, Bella, Angie, Billie, Esther, and Riley - so despite the loss, it was a memorable game for the girls to end the season on. The team finished the tournament with high spirits and lots to be proud of. We learnt a great deal as a team, improved throughout the tournament and, most importantly, had an amazing time bonding as a team to finish the 2026 season.
