Shave a Year 13!

By Riley Middlemass | Posted: Wednesday October 8, 2025

Help out our Year 13s who are participating in Shave for a Cure this year on Wednesday 22 October. By donating, you have a chance to shave one of our heads in front of the whole school!

Shave for a Cure is an annual event for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer in New Zealand, where people shave, cut or colour their hair to raise funds for both blood cancer research and patient support.

The Year 13s are doing this to show their solidarity for the eight New Zealanders diagnosed with blood cancer every day, which can cause hair loss because of the chemotherapy. The money that is raised will go towards the Leukaemia & Blood Cancer vital services, such as patient care, research, and awareness campaigns.

Donating to our Shave for a Cure event would greatly help the people who are struggling with these cancers and also aid in supporting those who are trying to find a cure for these cancers.

So please tell your friends and family and help us destroy our goal!
