Recently, TCCCC (sometimes known as "TC4") hosted a chess match against Logan Park High School.
Our team consisted of:
Board One Sam Kelly
Board Two Henry Le
Board Three Ethan Then
Board Four Joseph Kelly
Now Logan Park qualified for the national tournament next month, so we knew it would be a tough match. Each board played two games each, allowing for a maximum of 8 points (1 for a win, 1/2 for a draw, 0 for a loss).
At the end of 90 minutes of intense chess, the two teams gained 4 points each - an overall draw for the match. Congratulations especially to Henry Le who won both his games.
In the Otago age-group championships last weekend, Henry Le recently competed and won the Under 16 section and came third in the Under 20 section. This is an impressive showing from our 14-year-old chess whizz!
