Kia Ora and Warm Pacific Greetings,
It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the end of Term Three! I thought it was timely to take a step back and reflect on our journey so far!
Our Junior Years 7-9 Māori and Pasifika Homework club started in Term One of this year, and we now have a well established and supportive space, where the learning of our young tamariki can be supported as an extension to what happens in the classroom, and connections with each other can grow.
It has been heartening to see the students who have been coming along regularly and also those that have been coming as it suits. The doors to our club are always open. The working together on communal tasks as well as the independent learning, has been exciting to both watch and support. Our kai time is also a highlight, where food and drink can be shared and conversations can flow - sometimes even a game of basketball outside!
Homework club will continue in Term 4, and will run on a Tuesday in Te Kaia Moana, from 3.10pm to 4.30pm - please take note of the change of time for Term 4.
Enjoy a restful holiday break,
Fa’fetai Lava,
Marina Harris
