Last week marked a big milestone for Maya as she competed at the Maadi Cup — the culmination of three and a half years of hard work and perseverance.
Maya’s journey has been built on commitment and resilience. Rowing is a demanding sport that requires early mornings, consistency, and the ability to push through physical and mental challenges.
Over the past few years, Maya has shown all of these qualities, balancing training and competition alongside her school commitments with determination.
One of the standout moments of the week came during the opening parade. As Trinity’s sole rower, Maya proudly represented the school, carrying a banner she had stayed up late on Saturday night to complete. Even more special that Mr Campbell was able to find her on Sunday morning and walk alongside her, helping to carry the other side of the banner.
The livestream commentator acknowledged how great it was to see a Trinity banner on display, especially with Maya as the only rower representing the school.
We congratulate Maya on her efforts and the way she represented herself and the school throughout the week.
